In both 2022 and 2023, Bella Voce was selected as one of only ten small ensembles to participate in the prestigious MSVMA All-State concert at Michigan State University. Alongside her work in public schools, Stephanie takes on the role of Artistic Director for the Northwest Michigan College Children’s Choir Program, where she also directs the Intermezzo Choir.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central Michigan University and a Master of Music Education from The Hartt School. As an endorsed Teacher Trainer for First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege, she has taught courses and presented at state music conferences. Her presentations cover topics such as “Singing Development in Young Children,” “First Steps in Music,” “Music and Movement in Preschool,” and “Conversational Solfege.” In 2018, she contributed to the field of music education by co-authoring a chapter in a book inspired by her mentor, John Feierabend, titled Feierabend Fundamentals.
In recognition of her contributions to education, Stephanie was named an Outstanding Educator by the Traverse City Area ISD in 2018. She has also served two terms on the board of the Feierabend Association for Music Education (FAME) and continues to play an active role in this vital organization as President. Passionate about teaching students of all ages, Stephanie devotes several weeks each summer to instructing graduate students and music educators in the First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege curriculums at various summer graduate programs across the country.
When not teaching, Stephanie enjoys reading, shopping, hiking, biking, and spending time with her husband, Curt; daughter, Katie; and sweet dog, Gracie.
