Dan Dezwaan has been the elementary music specialist for first thru third graders in the Allendale public schools since 1999 where he also is the director of Falcon Kid’s Choir, DrumtastiX and Xylophonix. He has a bachelor’s degree from Dordt College (Iowa) and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University as well as in Music Education from Anderson University, where he also completed his three levels of Orff Certification, Level 1 Music Learning Theory (MSU), Intro to Dalcroze, World Music Drumming Level 1 and Level 1 Conversational Solfege. Dan has served as a board member of Michigan Music Education Association and twice as Vice President/President of the West Michigan Orff Chapter. He is currently the course director of the West Michigan Orff Course. When he’s not teaching, Dan enjoys gardening, traveling and going to various performances with his family.
