The Michigan Music Education Association (MMEA), in collaboration with MSVMA & MSBOA, is excited to celebrate our 4th-annual Music Education Advocacy Day on
Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the State Capitol (Lansing). Representatives from each of these three associations, along with business leaders and parents, will meet with legislators & the state board of education throughout the day to discuss the importance of music education in Michigan schools. A performance featuring ensembles from K-12 Michigan schools will be presented from 12-1 PM in the Glass Floor Rotunda.
Applications are NOW being accepted for the MMEA portion of the Advocacy Day lunchtime concert. MMEA will select one group from a Michigan elementary school for its portion of the performance. Selected ensembles will have 20 minutes to perform (including move-in/out time). All applications to perform must include the application AND a recording of the ensemble. All submissions must be received by Tuesday, December 19. Please visit our Advocacy Day webpage for complete event/application information.
We look forward to reviewing applications for this year’s performance. Please feel free to call/email our office should you have any questions.
