The 5th annual MMEA General Music Fall Workshop will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Eastern Michigan University (Ypsilanti). This one-day workshop will feature a wide variety of general music sessions, including composition, recorders, folk dancing, and MANY more. We are thrilled to welcome Georgia Newlin as the headliner for this year’s event. She will present 3 sessions throughout the day on Kodaly.
Online registration is now OPEN, and all registration materials and details are now available on our FALL WORKSHOP WEBPAGE. The member rate is $40, and the non-member rate is $55. On-site registrations WILL be accepted for an additional $10. We WILL offer SCECHs for an additional cost. A tasty lunch will be provided, and representatives from JW Pepper AND Music is Elementary will be on hand with tons of great music/teaching materials available for purchase. Early registration ends October 7th.
During this year’s lunch break we’re going to feature a “share corner.” You can bring lesson plan ideas to share, & anyone interested can chat & swap ideas/tips during lunch. Participation is optional, and more details will be coming soon. Special thanks to the sponsors of this year’s event, JW Pepper, Meyer Music, and Music is Elementary. We are thrilled to again partner with these fine companies to host the fall workshop! This event is also made possible through a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
